General Contracting in Danbury and Western Connecticut

A general contractor keeps a project organized. We figure out what needs to happen and in what order, bring in the right trades, and make sure each stage is ready before the next one starts.

We take on jobs from single rooms to full builds. You'll know what's happening each week, who will be at the house, and what decisions are coming up.

What this can include
  • A written outline of the work
  • Scheduling and lining up trades
  • Ordering materials and timing deliveries
  • Permits and inspections when the work needs them
  • Checking work as each stage is finished
  • Final walkthrough and punch list
How we run a job

We start by asking what you want when it's done, then write down the work so we both have the same list to refer back to.

We keep the site tidy and look over each stage as it's finished. Fixing something is easiest while that trade is still on site.

Questions

Common questions

What does a general contractor do on a home project?
Plans the order of work, schedules and supervises the trades, orders materials, handles permits and inspections when they're needed, and keeps you updated.
Do I need a general contractor for a small job?
Not always. A one-trade job can often be handled directly. Once a project involves framing, plumbing, electrical and finishes together, it helps to have one company running it.
Who do I talk to during the project?
You'll have one contact at JL for schedule, questions and decisions.
